Coral Products plc, a specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of injection moulded plastic products based in Haydock, Merseyside, is pleased to announce that it has merged the business and operations of two of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Tatra Plastics Limited and Rotalec Plastics Limited. The new merged entity is named Tatra Rotalac Limited.
Since being acquired by Coral in 2014 and 2016 respectively, Tatra and Rotalac have been operated as standalone businesses until they were fully established in the Coral Group. Having reviewed the operations and customer bases of the two business, the Coral Board concluded that combining the businesses would bolster the companies’ customer service offerings and put both businesses in a stronger position to take full advantage of their strong respective market positions within the plastic extrusion and injection moulding sectors in which they operate.
Tatra has relocated its operation from Halifax to Rotalac’s Wythenshawe premises. Rotalac has a 40,000 square feet office and production facility with 25 production lines providing a 24 hour operation. Synergies are expected to arise from the merger in the form of saved premises and overhead costs as well as providing for the merger benefits mentioned above.
Founded in 1963, Tatra Plastics is an approved supplier to BT and Network Rail and manufactures a range of products made specifically for the telecoms and rail industries together with rigid and flexible plastic extrusions for custom and standard profiles.
